Places To Visit In Hocking Hills

The focal points of Ohio’s Hocking Hills region are its landscape and topography. One of the area’s most popular destinations is Hocking Hills Park, in which Bourbon Ridge Retreat is smack-dab in the middle, with many of the park’s signature attractions less than a 15-minute drive away.

Enjoy all the natural wonder, sights, sounds and sensations this unique piece of southeastern Ohio has to offer. Nestled among the Appalachian foothills that characterize the region, Hocking Hills State Park encompasses 2,356 acres and features a number of natural attractions spread throughout its area. Hocking Hills State Park is rich in history, with ties to ancient culture that occupied the region some 7,000 years ago. A rich Native American presence and especially some of the region’s early white settlers have helped color the Hocking Hills with striking tones of folklore, adventure and industry.

Aside from the state park itself, Hocking Hills is home to a large segment of the Buckeye Trail, there are also dozens of miles of mountain bike trails, all-terrain vehicle trails, opportunities for hunting, fishing, birding, hiking, climbing, zip-lining and a host of other outdoor pursuits just a short drive from Bourbon Ridge Retreat.
